Wanna Play?

Wanna Play?
by Mark Jhon Cardoza Oxillo

'Twas a sunny day but you were up for some rove.
You were wearing a headpiece that your mother wove.
Wandering around then stopped by some sort of shove,
I wanted to come near you but can't barely move.

But you caught me with your eyes, walked close to me,
Made my heart pump fast which led me to sigh hardly.
Caressed me with your gentle hand, made me happy,
To the rhythm of the wind, we danced gracefully.

Swinging back & forth through the air caught in motion,
Levitating like we're on a different dimension.
As we elevated, joy's in proliferation,
Just you and me without minding the distraction.

But just when I thought I'm the happiest with you,
You suppressed everything we've had & said we're through.
You left me hanging all alone, found something new.
In pain with what you've said, hoping that it's untrue.

Without you, silence is a very deafening sound.
A once fun-filled space now turned into just a ground.
And I've realized I'm a swing in a playground,
You always come to have fun and just play around.

Lost in Direction

Lost in Direction
by Mark Jhon Cardoza Oxillo

The wooden seat was left empty for us to sit,
While the wind blew hard like a storm's about to hit,
But unlike the wind, you're calm, quite the opposite,
And the connection between us just can't trasmit.

I wore the same jewel that you gave me months ago.
Back then, we're happy, there's love between me and you.
Like Disney characters on a picturesque view,
We've shared memories together and nothing felt blue.

"I'll never leave you" was one of your statements,
But everything has changed, turned into fragments.
You've lost interest, can't contain all of my sentiments.
I don't know how to get out from these predicaments.

I can't fathom you leaving me so easily.
You used to make jokes to make me laugh loudly,
But now, the joke's not funny, it makes me weepy,
And happiness has turned into insanity.

There's no sign, never expected this to happen.
It really hurt me so bad like I was smitten.
Tearful eyes were the only thing I can attain.
How I wish these drops of rain will cure all the pain.

As the rain dropped, you stood and held my hands so tight.
Seconds passed and we're pictured in that dolesome sight,
Unclenched our hands, we were out of words to recite.
You turned your back at me and never glanced just right.

You walked languidly, took the road less travelled by,
I took the other way under a gloomy sky.
As we parted ways, heavy rain fell from up high,
And that's our prosaic but remarkable goodbye.

I thought I've lost you, but 'twas a misconception,
I lost me, it was such a late realization.
One thing that I have learned from this tribulation
Was finding myself from being lost in direction.

Puhon

Puhon
by Mark Jhon Cardoza Oxillo

Pagkalami lang damgohon ug pangandoyon,
Nga kitang duha mag-uban sa tanang higayon,
Kita makigbisug sa pagsulay aron mas malig-on
Ako ug ikaw, sa kalipay ug kalisud nga panahon.

Apan kining atong gugma, wala pa gyuy siguro,
Kita na ba? Uyab ba ta? Wala sad ko kabalo.
Kung mag-uban ta, kailangan ba nato magtago?
"Basin naay makakita", maoy tubag nimo kanako.

Kabalo ko's akong limitasyon ug asa ko kutob,
Maong dili ko magpataka-taka lang ug tunob.
Kay ang gugma murag bangka, pwede mokulob,
Dili sad ni sinina nga pwede mabali pagkasul-ob.

Parehas tang duha, dili pa andam mosugal,
Kay gugma nato dili pa lig-on sama sa bakal.
Kulang pa kini sa tam-is, daw murag asukal.
Dapat mura ug lapis, nindot ang pagkatahal.

Bisag ani atong kahimtang, ako nalipay gihapon,
Nga ikaw akong nakaila ug gitagaan ug higayon.
Atong istorya di pa andam sa uban, dili pa karon,
Pero andam ko maghulat nga ikaw maakoa puhon.

Fallen

𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻
by Mark Jhon Cardoza Oxillo

I was a little branch of an old oak tree,
And you were a bird on a flying spree,
In search of a shade, chirping in sultry,
So I let you rest on me, all for free.

My leaves sheltered you from the extreme heat,
And to show thanks, you chanted me a tweet.
I was astounded with your lovely skit,
Wanted to hear more from you on repeat.

I was your favorite branch as time went by.
You helped me bloom as pleasing as the sky,
Offered you my acorns to eat and try,
You stayed like you had nowhere else to fly.

We've been like that like we're inseparable,
For years, I've known you being lovable.
You hurting me was quite unthinkable,
But I was wrong, things went off the table.

Autumn came, my leaves slowly went falling.
You knew it, so you left without telling.
I was hurt knowing that you're migrating.
These leaves of mine plunged like I was crying.

Then my twigs started falling on the ground,
Fallen twigs and fallen leaves were abound.
Nobody was there to catch them around.
Soil will cover them and they can't be found.

Not Anymore

Not Anymore
(A sequel to "Just A Stranger")
by Mark Jhon Cardoza Oxillo

I was about to leave but you said "hey!",
That single word made my heart so happy,
Prevented myself from shouting in total glee.

I finally got a chance to know you even more,
Thrilled 'coz you let me in by opening your door.
You're no longer just a stranger, not anymore.

Just A Stranger

Just A Stranger
by Mark Jhon Cardoza Oxillo

With a single glance, you made my day better,
Like the world stopped, I can't help but stare.
Your attractive aura's all over the atmosphere.

Something's pushing me to get to know you closer.
Wanting to hold you, and caress you so tender,
But I'm afraid 'coz you're totally just a stranger.

Clandestine Love Affair

Clandestine Love Affair
by Mark Jhon Cardoza Oxillo

Morning fresh air was pleasantly breathable,
As the sun rose, daylight became visible.
In the woodland where I saw you standing tall,
Well-groomed, kempt and agreeably gentle.

Smiles greeted us as our eyes met expressively.
It was like we have missed each other sincerely,
And we both drew ourselves closer intimately.
Your both hands gripped in mine inseparably.

Sat on a board talking 'bout our secret language,
It is the only thing that the both of us can engage.
If someone sees us together, we'll be like on a stage,
Be judged, talked about, others might went savage.

Always the woodland is our secret rendezvous,
Frightened about the things we've never been through.
We're like musicians making our first ever debut.
A lot of time is needed for it not to be called a fiasco.

Then, the time on your wristwatch turned six,
You suddenly stood up faster like you did some tricks.
We bid our goodbyes 'coz we're afraid of the risks,
About to part ways so I kissed you on your cheeks.

Our love may not be that ready for the world to discover,
But that doesn't mean we'll keep it in the burrow forever.
For you, happiness and love are the things I can share.
I'm just grateful having you in our clandestine love affair.
