Clandestine Love Affair

Clandestine Love Affair
by Mark Jhon Cardoza Oxillo

Morning fresh air was pleasantly breathable,
As the sun rose, daylight became visible.
In the woodland where I saw you standing tall,
Well-groomed, kempt and agreeably gentle.

Smiles greeted us as our eyes met expressively.
It was like we have missed each other sincerely,
And we both drew ourselves closer intimately.
Your both hands gripped in mine inseparably.

Sat on a board talking 'bout our secret language,
It is the only thing that the both of us can engage.
If someone sees us together, we'll be like on a stage,
Be judged, talked about, others might went savage.

Always the woodland is our secret rendezvous,
Frightened about the things we've never been through.
We're like musicians making our first ever debut.
A lot of time is needed for it not to be called a fiasco.

Then, the time on your wristwatch turned six,
You suddenly stood up faster like you did some tricks.
We bid our goodbyes 'coz we're afraid of the risks,
About to part ways so I kissed you on your cheeks.

Our love may not be that ready for the world to discover,
But that doesn't mean we'll keep it in the burrow forever.
For you, happiness and love are the things I can share.
I'm just grateful having you in our clandestine love affair.
