Unfinished Business

Unfinished Business
by Mark Jhon Cardoza Oxillo

You gave me some little smirk & brown guilty eyes,
Seemed inauthentic like a beauty in disguise,
And then you frowned like you've got no surprise,
That's how woeful my life was, full of dark skies.

Tried so hard to be everything that you like,
Even tried shouting your name using a mic,
That got you annoyed, almost gave me a strike.
I'm aching 'cause you're a mountain, hard to hike.

I don't talk much to everyone except you,
But you're uninterested, treats me like a foe.
I won't complain 'cause I'm never in your shoe.
And all I can do is wait like I'm on a queue.

But I got tired, wanted to end everything,
Gave you third chances, but you're never learning.
It was easy for you to see me leaving,
But for me, it's so hurtful and heartbreaking.

A day passed and I saw you with someone new,
I admit I got jealous, don't like the view.
Tried to convince myself that it's just for show,
But it wasn't, it's real that I'm losing you.

You seemed very happy and you looked blooming.
Guess you've really found someone more exciting.
Good memories with you is what I'm keeping,
I'm happy with the decision you're taking.

And now, I'm just wishing you both all the best.
For the sake of your new one, please be honest.
Don't worry 'bout me, I'll be okay, promise.
I'll be dealing with my unfinished business.
